After our fabulous 2 week vacation we came home to a turtle stink that we are still trying to get rid of... 5 minutes away from home Steve and I were saying how happy we were that we cleaned the house so well before we left, nothing like coming home to a clean house after a long vacation. Well that was foiled by our stinking turtle! So after cleaning carpets, washing walls, and washing ALL the linens upstairs and everything that was left in the boys closet, we decided it was time for Sparkles to have a new home. One of the nurseries in town has a pond with fish and turtles and they take turtles... perfect for us, we convinced the kids Sparkles would like the BIG pond and "friends" much better AND we can go visit him.

Look how happy he is... actually Steve said he was snapping and hissing to the end. Our grumpy stinky turtle. At least all that is happening out of our house.
We are hoping the latest trick for getting smell out works... if not we will be repainting the boys room on Saturday. My dad was smart to not allow pets in the house!!
