Translated: congratulations for not getting eaten by the beast. But it is kind of like Happy New Year, Chinese New Year. Apparently there is a beast that comes out at midnight on new years eve and eats all the children, heart warming tradition isn't it... So they light off fireworks and make lots of noise at midnight to scare off the beast and if you make it through the night without getting eaten you say congrats to your friends who also made it through the night...
For us it just means Steve makes us lots of yummy food!
